Covid-19 continues to impact the world and has caused us all to adapt to a “new normal,” the Real Estate Industry and The Riley Team included.

Many Sellers are also taking this time to prepare their homes rather than immediately list. Spring Cleaning has come early as people organize closets, landscape, clean out drawers, paint walls, and make repairs. If you’re using this time to get your home ready, we can also utilize Coming Soon marketing as to not be missed by any active buyers. This is going to set the market up for a busy and competitive Summer so it’s important to be ready to act once we’re back at full capacity.

Real Estate services are considered “essential” because for various reasons, people still need to move or sell their homes. But to do this, the industry has needed to evolve and adapt to keep all parties safe. Mortgage loans are still moving forward and escrow companies are still operating, just doing so remotely and electronically. Teleconferencing, with the help of FaceTime and Zoom are being used for listing appointment and buyer consultations and even home tours. E-signing programs are also being used to negotiate contracts and host settlements.

Safe Practices

The Riley Team has taken extra precautions with each of our listings to encourage safe showing practices. We’ve instructed all our sellers to leave all lights on and internal doors open for showings. We will also be leaving hand sanitizer, gloves, and booties at the door for buyers to use upon entrance. All appointments will be restricted to one hour and not offered at overlapping times. The Riley Team has always used alternative marketing opportunities for their sellers’ consideration, and now Virtual Open Houses and Video Tours will be even more widely practiced.
