A New Milestone for The Riley Team: We're BBB Accredited
RETURN TO BLOG
I am delighted to share a new milestone for The Riley Team at Deep Roots Real Estate: our business is now BBB Accredited. The official profile lists our accreditation date as October 27, 2026 and, as of November 2, 2026, shows a current A+ rating.
This recognition feels especially meaningful because our work is personal and local. Buyers and sellers invite me into decisions involving homes, money, moves, family timing and a considerable amount of paperwork. The least I can do is make the paperwork feel less like it is plotting against you.
A quick, honest distinction: BBB Accreditation is a voluntary commitment to BBB Standards for Trust. It is separate from a BBB rating and from customer reviews. BBB does not endorse or guarantee my real estate services or any transaction outcome.
Why this milestone matters to me
After more than 25 years in real estate, I still believe trust is built one clear answer, one returned call and one carefully handled deadline at a time. BBB Accreditation gives clients another public place to verify our business information and the standards we have agreed to uphold. It does not replace professional licensing, client reviews or the work itself. It adds another layer of accountability.
My approach has always been to prepare thoroughly, communicate candidly and negotiate with the client's priorities in view. I am proud of the experience behind that work: Associate Broker licensing, Master Certified Negotiator training, 1,338+ career sales and more than $532 million in career volume. Those credentials do not guarantee an outcome. They show the depth of work I bring to each new client.
What BBB Accreditation means
BBB says an accredited business commits to standards that include building trust, advertising honestly, telling the truth, being transparent, honoring promises, being responsive, safeguarding privacy and embodying integrity. Those are meaningful words in real estate because a client may be sharing financial records, family plans, a relocation deadline and one of the largest financial decisions of a lifetime.
Accreditation is not a trophy that gets placed on a shelf and forgotten. BBB monitors accredited businesses against its standards, and accreditation can be revoked if a business no longer meets them. That continuing responsibility is the part I value most.
Accreditation, rating and reviews are different
| Item | What it tells a consumer |
|---|---|
| BBB Accreditation | A voluntary status showing that the business has committed to BBB's accreditation standards and ongoing monitoring. |
| BBB Rating | BBB's current letter-grade opinion based on information including complaint history, responsiveness, transparency, licensing and government actions. Ratings can change. |
| Customer Reviews | Individual customer feedback. BBB explains that customer reviews do not determine the letter rating. |
As of November 2, 2026, the official profile lists Dawn Riley, the Riley Team as BBB Accredited since October 27, 2026 and currently rated A+. It lists the business address as 2425 Solomons Island Rd Ste C, Huntingtown, MD 20639 and the phone as 410-414-2438. Because ratings are time-sensitive, please use the official BBB profile for the current status.
How the standards show up in a real estate transaction
- Transparency: explain services, brokerage relationships, material terms and transaction choices in plain language.
- Honest advertising: support marketing claims and describe properties accurately.
- Responsiveness: return calls, track questions and address concerns in good faith.
- Promises: put important commitments in writing and follow through.
- Privacy: handle personal, financial and transaction information carefully.
- Integrity: give candid advice even when the easy answer would sound nicer.
Real estate has enough fine print to qualify as its own cardio workout. My goal is to make the important parts understandable, put deadlines where everyone can see them and tell a client when a question belongs with a lender, attorney, inspector, insurance professional or tax adviser.
What this does not promise
BBB does not certify that every real estate decision will be easy, approve a home's condition, guarantee my services or endorse one agent over another. Accreditation is voluntary. BBB ratings are separate and can change as new information is reviewed. Customer reviews are also separate and do not determine the BBB letter rating. Clients should still verify licensing, interview professionals and choose the representation that fits their needs.
My invitation to buyers and sellers
If you are considering buying or selling in Calvert County, St. Mary's County, Charles County or Anne Arundel County, I would be happy to talk through your goals. Call or text me at 410-414-2438, email dawn@dawnriley.net or schedule a consultation through DawnRiley.net. Bring the straightforward questions and the complicated ones. I genuinely enjoy untangling the complicated ones.

The Bottom Line
I am grateful to celebrate this accreditation, and I am even more grateful to the clients who have trusted me with their moves over the years. The BBB seal is a visible milestone. The daily commitment behind it remains the same: honest information, responsive communication, careful negotiation and respect for the people on the other side of the table.
